LofilesMusic was founded in 2009, with the goal of showcasing unknown artists and bringing their music to as many listeners as possible. Established by producer/songwriter Shlomo Sonnenfeld (see discography), Lofiles evolved into a boutique label that releases and promotes original music. Since then, Lofiles’ original releases have had genre-bending musical influences. From the ragged, East Coast hip-hop sound to Middle Eastern roots and some earlier hints of the Berlin era Bowie-Eno-Fripp sound, Lofiles emphasizes the quality of the music and strives to create a unique sound.

In the early 80’s, Shlomo Sonnenfeld moved to New York City. After quitting his day job he began writing and producing music, and gained an introduction to the beauty of hip hop through the production of MC Lyte’s “Lyte as a Rock”. The subsequent success of the album opened doors for Sonnenfeld, and many more collaborations were soon to follow. Sonnenfeld worked with DJ Premiere, Gangstarr, Guru, MC Lyte, Black Moon, Easy Mo Bee, Mr C, Diamond D, Showbiz, Fat Joe and Riff — just to name a few. At the same time, he signed a publishing deal with BMG as a songwriter, scored music for German TV, and worked on various special projects, including a commissioned piece for the Tel Aviv Museum.
